Goal of Retail Mode

The main objective of Retail Mode is to teach customers how to use Samsung devices. After learning through short-form content we encourage users to try it on the native device UI.

We accomplished this through the Features Carousel.

Secondarily, Retail Mode gives users the options to discover the device relative information they make be seeking.

  • Compare Devices - Allows users to see how device specifications compare to other devices.

  • Make the Switch - Content to educate on the ease of switching to Samsung.

  • Promotions - Quickly inform users of the current promotions to take advantage of.

Features Carousel

As users begin the Retail Mode experience, this is the first step in the user journey. Customers can watch up to 16 short videos to learn about device features.

If customers want to try features for themselves, there are strategically placed CTA buttons that drive the shoppers into the real experience putting them in control of the device.

Compare Devices

Retail Mode gives users the ability to learn about the details of device specifications, as well as comparing them against other devices.

Additionally information is organized in a way that aligns with user’s needs of the device.

  • ‘Top Specs’ gives users a high-level look at benefits of the device without being bogged down in the specifics.

  • ‘All Specs’ allows users to see the details in the device specifications to make an informed purchase decision.

This content is centered around dispelling any doubt into the complexity of switching to Samsung devices. From video, step-by-step instructions, and even the ability to try Galaxy UI on your device, this section has everything needed to give users confidence in switching to Samsung.

About the Process

Like any other user experience, Retail Mode went through a design process starting with user flows and leading into wireframe designs. This helped us gain alignment with stakeholders in order to develop our experiences in tandem with content creation.

Wireframe to design

With the evolution of Retail Mode, our team chose to implement an 8 pixel design system. We utilized this system for consistency and flexibility throughout the experience. Having this system established also created efficiencies when adding new pieces to our existing designs.
